For all his teasing, he'd never think to blame Lan Zhan for feeling anything but annoyed with him back then. He was a menace, and the only real difference between then and now is he's willing to take a little more responsibility for his actions.

Perhaps he was guilty too, having tormented Lan Zhan so much during his time in Cloud Recesses. It was barely different from the way children would pull the hair of the one they liked, too flustered to know what to do with their emotions.
