"So tight!" he laughs, wriggling, as if to prove how difficult he can be to hold onto. True to his word, he remains well and truly caught. Not that he doesn't plan to make the most of it.

"I guess Lan Zhan will have to carry me, just to make sure I can't get away," he reasons.

Hearing that Lan Zhan has made him something, no matter how small, sets his heart beating faster. He doesn't want to spoil the surprise, but he can't help being curious.

"Ah? A gift?" as if Wei Wuxian hasn't also been searching, amid all the new shops and craftsmen, for something perfect for Lan Wangji as well.
