Night hunts are practically routine where Lan Xichen's from, at least for cultivators, and exploring an unfamiliar forest with relatively unknown dangers doesn't seem any different just because it's in another world. There certainly seems to be something of a sense of ease as they travel, and then as they set up camp.
During the day, there's a flurry of activity as the camp's occupants drift in and out, setting up or taking down tents, making weapons or food, going off to collect firewood or go hunting or fishing, patrol the area or anything else that needs doing.
In the evening there's a roaring fire to ward off the chill, the scent of cooking food and the sound of conversation.
Someone - quite likely Lan Xichen himself - will invite anyone who happens nearby to come sit down, warm themselves by the fire and have something to eat.
At night, there's likely always someone up on watch who might need company, or who might come to investigate someone nearby.

[He will help him with that, making breakfast then. With just as much deft and skill, he cooks, adding a pair of hands to get the job done]
Do you have seasoning and spices? He doesn't like it too bland.
[However if it does come out bland due to lack of eggs, meat, and spices and other key ingredients that makes it an ideal breakfast, then they just have to make do with what they have]

And I am sure my pickled vegetables are ready.
There is leftover skewer meat.
[ So, definitely plenty that they can hide into rice and pockets of bread for their spoiled gremlin husbands who have essentially decided the diet of their family. ]

[It's a matter of mixing the right ingredients together and have it all ready. With the right seasonings and spice into the meat mixed with the vegetables, breakfast should be ready whenever their gremlin husband-to-be decides to wake up, which will be a few hours from now.
In the meanwhile, Wangji will help himself to the congee and pickled vegetables. He won't speak for the duration. Gusu rule: No chatting during mealtimes]

He will like them. I made spicy mustard greens as well.
[ He's not a newb, Lan Wangji. Give him some credit, he can feed their husbands. ]
no subject
I think he will like those if it's spicy.
[For now, it seems breakfast is done for the day, leaving room for the morning routine. The day becomes a little brighter]
May we go for a stroll and speak?
[Early in the morning, members of the order are still sleeping, but one or two maybe up and about doing morning patrol. He gestures to have a stroll into the forest, far away from prying eyes and ears]

[ He gets up and picks a direction for them to start walking in. He imagines this must be very important and will let his other self explain. ]

The other night the rabbit visited me and requested an audience with me. He gave me a warning.
no subject
[ He has a story to tell of the rabbit as well, but he'll wait for the other to go first. ]
no subject
He speaks in riddles and likes to ask questions. But the short of it, he gave me a warning. He said, it's better to cooperate or they'll take Wei Ying away.
no subject
He said that to me as well, though he made no effort to hide that should Wei Ying be taken away, he will be beheaded.
[ So, yes. It seems he got the long-form of this warning, and trust. He doesn't want Wei Ying to lose his head. It's a nice head. ]
no subject
He gave advice. To keep Wei Ying out of trouble, we have to remind him of the rules, cooperate, and leave the Queen's people alone.
no subject
Even if we tell him.
[ Maybe especially if they do. He did like to contradict everyone. ]
no subject
He just needs a reminder.
[In other words, he is equally as lost. What to do with rebellious gremlin husbands what to do]
Anyway, let's head back. Everyone should be awake by now.
no subject
[ Because it's a perfectly normal morning time, unless you wake up late like he does. But he supposes it's time for both of them to go dunk their husbands carefully into the lake to bathe them while they sleep. ]
Do you want a turn at the river first, or should I?
no subject
[He preferred a gentler way by using a towel with very ice-cold water to wake him and bathe him]
If you wish, I'll go first.
no subject
[ He nods and will let Lan Wangji do the honors. They can trade off tomorrow, to let each Wei Ying get his own chance to sleep a little longer. ]
