Wide awake
WHO: Lan Wangji and ota
WHAT: Lan Wangji woke up on his bed in his bedroom
WHEN: November 5th and onward
WHERE: His bedroom, around the hotel with one TDM prompt
NOTES:CW: Talk of his death will come up in discussion, depression, trauma, and illness
I. Awake
A few days after the Halloween party, it happened sometime in the night when everyone is sleeping. His room was unoccupied during the late hours, but he returned. He was sleeping. He was exhausted. It's hard to imagine that he had been dead for a few days, and then somehow, he resurrected, and his body is alive once more, breathing and actually warm with his soul from the darkness returned.
He slept in his bedroom for a long time. After he slept for a long time, he woke up with a start, his eyes flutter open. He was breathing softly and he woke up with such a start that he felt ill. The first feeling is going to the bathroom to purge the illness out of his stomach, and that just happened. He crawls on the floor, trying to feel the weight of standing on his two feet, his body weakens from blood loss and the physical trauma, and he was there for a long time to purge whatever feelings of death linger in his body out.
Gold filled in his wounds, covering his neck, arms, torso, and legs. Like a map jagged, cracked, and stripe-like a tiger, the gold filling is now scarred over his body and a painful reminder of what happened that night.
Eventually, once he felt empty of everything heavy in his body, he crawls his way back to the bed to rest. If there is anyone in the room, later on, he begins to speak, weak from illness and hunger.
"I'm sorry. I think I had been dreaming." After which, he curls up on his bed to finally cry and sob heavily over what happened, once he finally remembers.
II. First snowfall - Nov.6 to Nov.8
It takes Lan Wangji a lot of courage to venture out, even for a few moments, but he would rather stay in his room with his rabbits and cat to rest. He ventures out to see the snowy environment by the pools and experiencing the first fall of snow.
The only source of warmth to be found here now are the several hot tubs scattered throughout the pool area. Taking a dip in the hot tub helps relieves the stress he's under, he can be seen relaxing and meditating in the hot tubs.

Generally at night he curled himself around Lan Wangji's pillow, burying his face in it to breath in what remains of his scent. Crying himself to sleep, misery filling every fiber of his being, a quiet dread that the man might not come back to him at all.
His heart was left in a shattered mess on the floor of the party and he is pretty sure he will never recover it. He feels selfish..knowing that the man has experienced losing him to death twice. While Wei Wuxian has only had to deal with it once. But they were married now and with everything that the hotel had done, he can't help but feel crushed by the fact that he was stolen away from him in such a way, so soon after their wedding, and on his birthday.
He had just finished crying himself to sleep, curled up in the corner of the bed as he is every night as he waits. He sleeps through the initial movement but when the bed shifts as Lan Wangji returns, his eyes shoot open. He sits up quickly and looks at the other man, tears of relief streaming down his face.
Without a word he flings himself at him, wrapping his arms around his neck and burying his face against him, so grateful that the man came back to him.

Before he can attempt to sleep, that's when Wei Wuxian wakes up and he felt Lan Wangji next to him. He's all clean and not bloodied up. He doesn't smell like blood, but a clean shower flower scent and sandalwood.
"Wei Ying..." He wraps his arms around him and hugs his husband real tight. His body is real, all warm and solid. There's a gentle love, full of worry and concern in his voice. "Wei Ying, it's okay. I'm here. I'm sorry. Wei Ying."

After awhile his tears start to slow, crying himself dry. He breathes in the scent of the man his face is against, the feeling of those arms around him holding him tightly, the sound of his voice against his ear. All of it is real and he is there and back and not a figment of his imagination or a dream.
Finally lifting his tear stained face away from Lan Wangji's chest, he looks up at the other man, eyes puffy and blood shot.
"Welcome back, Lan Zhan." His voice is raspy, having cried himself hoarse.

He felt a sense of deep regret. "Wei Ying." He murmured his name over and over in a soft gentle voice to comfort him, feeling a deep sense of love and renewed respect for the other man. He finally understands what he went through.
"I am here. I am here with you now. And I am sorry..." He whispered, and all he could is gently kiss him and then holds him tight, rocking back and forth. "I'm not going anywhere."

There is no heat in the words, simply a sad scolding that is little more then a test to make sure the other knows just how upset he was that he was gone. As if the tears weren't enough, he also had to know that he was angry. But most of his anger is actually directed towards the hotel and not the other man.
"It's my fault..I should have been stronger to protect you."
no subject
He sighs, breathing evenly as he holds him tightly, as much as he can, never letting him go. Eventually, he has to let go, arms loosen and let Wei Ying claim him, and relax against him like a pillow.
He realized how upset and angry he is, so he wanted to say as much apologies as he could, whispering them.
"And you are strong. Stronger than anyone I know. Right here." He pressed a hand on his chest above his heart. "Strong, brave, and full of courage. While I was...I was hoping to be like that too."
With a flood of relief, he's more worried for him. "But I'm back now. I'm truly here. Wei Ying, I'm here and I'm happy to see you." he said, finally letting the tears of his sincerity out, hoping to earn his forgiveness for leaving him.

He feels so relieved that his husband is back with him. He doesn't want to ever feel separated from him again. These past few days have been terribly long, even with everyone coming to spend the time with him.
When he pulls away, he looks into Lan Wangji's eyes. "As long as you promise never to leave again, for us both to be more careful in this place..then we can move forward together."
no subject
He closes his eyes, finding comfort as he cradles his face with his hands. "Wei Ying, I never wanted to leave you. It's too early to leave. I promise to stay with you and I intend to keep it. So, stay with me for a while. I feel a little ill, so I'm going nowhere and I need lay down for a while."
He's going to bring up the pillow and lay his head down to relax and to rest. "Mn, moving forward. But I need to rest for a while."
no subject
He wraps his arm around him, holding him tightly as if afraid that if he lets go then he might disappear again. He wants Lan Wangji to have all the rest he might want or need and he is going to stay right there with him. He'll only move if the other man says he is uncomfortable or hot.
"I love you, Lan Zhan." He murmurs against his neck.
no subject
He lets him hold him tight, squeezing him as much as he wants to, as much as he needs to. He wraps his arms around him loosely but hugs him for all he wants and needed. He pressed a kiss on the top of his head, breathing in the familiar scent of him. For now, he's comfortable.
"I love you too, Wei Ying." He whispered. He'll happily say it again to confirm he is truly here. "Thank you for being here with me."

And everyone else made sure to take care of the animals at Lotus Pier, knowing that Wei Wuxian didn't want to leave at all, just in case the man came back.

"I'm not going nowhere, Wei Ying. I am here." He has returned and inwardly, he was very shaken at the very thought that death is possible for him. If they returned back home, it's different. He would have a chance with his golden core, even without his weapons. But it's done. He came back, perhaps to finish what unfinished business that this world demands of him.
"I am so grateful to you, now that you're here. I don't think forever with you is enough." He said, and he's truly sorry for everything. "You could tell everyone that I am."
He kisses his forehead and his cheek, promising him a brighter tomorrow. "Tomorrow I am here as much as the sun rises. So I promise, I'll be with you tomorrow, the day after, and everyday."
He strokes his back and hair to comfort him. He'll stay up and stay awake for as long he has too, having just woke up, talking to him, filling his husband's mind and his heart with his promises and words, knowing he needs it more than now.
