It has been quiet around the hotel other then the fact that there is snow everywhere and the staff seems to be in a festive mood. After some discussions about holidays they discover that this is a time of the year when people gather with families and celebrate. So it was only natural that this large, unique, extended family should all come together and enjoy a meal together and reflect over their time in the hotel.

So the dining area has been decorated with red and gold and green, christmas trees are brightly lit around the room. Music plays softly over the speakers and a large buffet of food is out for all to enjoy. A fire crackles in the fireplace warming the room so that they snow has been melted away and won't make people want to rush back to the warmth of their rooms.mo

Come and enjoy the festivities, share gifts with one another, tell stories and simply enjoy the company and expectations for the coming year.

Once they reach the end of the hall he reaches up and scratches the side of his nose, studying his work.

"I think I got it all...Do you see anything I might have missed?"

He looks over Wei Ying's shoulder.

"No," he responds. "Let's move to the next section."

He nods and folds that map up, tucking it carefully inside his robes so that he can make sure he doesn't drop it. He then takes a clean piece of paper and labels it.

"It's kind of interesting...This hotel is so big. We saw it when we were outside. We've only been allowed into such a small piece of it. Even when we sneaked into those other areas...I feel like we have still only scratched the surface."

They don't even know where the forest they were taken to is. There's so much else besides... and a resistance, out there, somewhere.

"We will find a way."

He nods and heads in the direction of the stairs, knowing there is a few new places on the next level of the hotel.

"I can't even add those isolation rooms onto the map because I'm not entirely sure where they even are in relation to everything else..."

Or that room where he met the twins...

"I think they are hiding them from us." He heaves a sigh. There weren't windows. "We might have been on different floors."

"makes sense...they wouldn't want us to know where they are so that people can't save each other when they are locked up."

He frowns and makes a couple notes on the side of the map. He will have to remember to document the unknown rooms on a map that he doesn't share with the rest of the hotel.

"We are unable to take the stairs, so we have no way of knowing," he says. He frowns, thinking if there was a way to do more exploration.

"That day when we all organized and went to search the other areas we had the help of that resistance..." The day that he died...but he doesn't say that. It isn't the resistance's fault that happened. It was his own misfortune that he ended up in that place.

"They must have a map of this entire hotel otherwise they wouldn't know where to send us."

He nods. But it doesn't mean that they'd be able to access it at all. "I would not be surprised if they had one on their devices."

Presumably, they have devices.

"Our map might not be as detailed as theirs...but perhaps it is still a step in the right direction. To get closer to the secrets."

Wei Wuxian needs to believe they have made some progress. Otherwise the hard times are for nothing...

He does think it's worth something, but mostly he's just glad to have something to do, and that they can do it together.

"Let's keep moving, then."

He nods and heads towards the next area. "What other new rooms to you remember? It's hard to remember everything this place has had when some of the rooms change temporarily..."

He continues thinking about it.

"Let's head this way," he says. "This looks new."

He nods and follows, making sure to note any side hallways and doorways on the map even if they aren't accessible to them.

Finding all the new places isn't so hard and doesn't take so long. After all, there aren't that many of them.

When they finish he looks at his rough sketch, making sure he can decipher it enough to turn it into a nicer version and then looks up at Lan Wangji.

"Anywhere else you think we need to go?"

He looks at it, considers it, and then shakes his head.

"I think we have everything."

"Then I just need to do the final copy, get you to label everything and we can hang it up!"

He knows that it will take a little time to draw the final copy and make it perfect. He looks up at the other man, knowing he has stolen him away for quite awhile at this point.

"Do you need to go back?"

He nods, curtly. "That would be wise," is his answer. Because Wei Ying should probably go back as well.

He nods as well and tucks the map into his robes. "Then I will finish this and bring it to you to label another day."
