A Happy MidAutumn Wedding Mingle Log

Pre-Wedding

Invitations have gone out to all the rooms and all the Oysters within the hotel. Whether you have met all four of the people involved in the wedding or not, it makes no difference. They all want you to join them in the celebration of their union! It's a wedding of two couples but also a celebration of the Mid-Autumn festival since it all will be happening on October 1.

For days leading up to October 1st, the kitchens have been busy with preparing a feast for the wedding. The staff is all aware of the upcoming event and the kitchen was opened up so the parties involved could help prepare a wide variety of foods for the guests. Included in that is the making of many mooncakes. A tasty treat that is customary for the Mid-Autumn Festival that also occurs on that date. Enough had to be made since each of the guests will be give a lovely wedding favor of a pair of mooncakes wrapped in paper bags painted with pretty lotus flowers or perhaps you will be given one with rabbits on the moon instead painted on them. If anyone happens upon the kitchen they might encounter one or both of the Lan Wangji's as they make sure all the food is correct and preparations for carting it all outside is made. Everything must be perfect for the evening.

As the sun rises in the sky, the friends and families of the wedding parties are welcome to gather outside the rooms of the two Wei Wuxian's. Inside their respective spaces they are taking great care in preparing for the evening, getting dressed in the wedding robes and placing their veils over their heads. They are sitting and waiting for their soulmates to arrive so they can be escorted to the ceremony. But outside the room, there are those that wish to challenge each of the Lan Wangji's before they can collect their soon to be husbands. Feel free to force Lan Wangji to prove his love for the one inside the room before he will be allowed to collect his beloved. Force him to eat a spicy pepper, or ask him questions to prove his love for the one inside the room. It's a game that Lan Wangji must pass in order to be ready to finally be with the one he loves. Once he has been allowed to enter the room, the guests will proceed downstairs to prepare for the ceremony.

Wedding

As guests enter the gardens they notice the red lanterns and decorations everywhere. The hedge maze surrounds them and acts as a lovely backdrop that beautiful silk streamers and paper lotus flower decorations are hung on to give a warm feeling to the area. Longer streamers cross above their heads strung from trees to create a lovely red canopy for a little protection from the autumn sun in the sky. Soft music plays around them to welcome them to their seats. In the front of the room is a lovely alter of gold and a place where the official will be standing. There is space big enough for the two sets of grooms to be able to perform their bows simultaneously.

A donkey wearing a red halter with golden tassels and a matching blanket is wandering around the gardens. Munching on apples off the trees, he can easily be distracted by anyone that might offer him another as a snack. He'll eventually be lead closer to the ceremony to stand watch, clearly also a member of the family and as he gets led down the aisle to stand near the alter. Hopefully he will be well behaved during the process. Someone close to him might be sneaking him apples during it to keep him quiet.

When the time arrives, the two couples appear. The Wei Wuxians with red veils covering their faces, equally as bright and elegant robes upon their bodies. Golden embroidery and accents across many layers of long and flowing silks and sheers. Golden head pieces are currently obscured by the veils. They are being lead by the two Lan Wangjis, dressed in equally as striking men's robes with matching golden accents. Each of the four outfits is unique to the person who wears them but they are all equally as extravagant and lovely.

They walk down the aisle as one and stand before Lan Xichen who begins the ceremony. Three sets of bows take place as the two couples kneel before him. The first kowtow to Heaven and Earth. The second to show respect to their family. The third kowtow to each other. Vows will be done in private later but for now the couples stand. Veils are lifted so that the pairs can finally look into the eyes of their soulmates and can finish their ceremony with a kiss.

As the ceremony ends, the couples are now free to acknowledge their guests and begin the festivities.

Banquet

All the food that had been prepared for days leading up to this moment was now placed on long tables with red tablecloths. There are smaller tables for the guests to sit at while they enjoy their meal. The spread is buffet style so that everyone can help themselves and included are more of the mooncakes like the ones within the gifts for the guests. There is also chicken cooked in various ways so that people have their choice of how they like it prepared. Also fruit and garden salads for those that don't eat meat. Including very festive looking watermelons that have been cut to resemble lotus flowers. Basically if the hotel is able to serve it, it has been represented in some way. The grooms didn't want any of the guests to feel left out and wanted to make sure that everyone left the party full and happy.

Don't forget the drinks! Since Wei Wuxian loves his alcohol, there is also plenty of that to go around. It will be flowing all night and you may even spot a couple jars of his favorite drink, Emperor's Smile, hanging out on the table as well. Better get those before they disappear! And for those that don't drink, don't worry. The tea provided is safe of all the hotels tricks. And water or other nonalcoholic beverages are available.

But most important is perhaps the table of desserts that has been laid out for everyone. Ice cream that is somehow being kept cold while outside is available to be placed on top of cakes and pies of every type that anyone can imagine. But standing above it all is a large several tiered wedding cake that will eventually be cut by the four grooms for you all to enjoy. But please don't touch until it has been divided! Cute little rabbits of white and grey decorate each layer of the cake and at the very top a decorative moon topper with a two sets of rabbits within it and lotus flowers along the edge of the moon. Each tier of the cake is a different flavor so make sure you try each one.

The grooms and their family will be seated in a long table by the hedge maze so feel free to come up and congratulate them or offer a toast. When the cake is cut they will be mingling along with everyone.

Dancing

It wouldn't be a wedding without dancing. And as night falls and the food tables are cleared away, a wide open area is set aside for those that want to enjoy customary wedding activities. The hotel was kind enough to offer those dancing lessons a few months before so everyone should be well practiced on the moves. Various styles of music from all over the various worlds plays continuously through the evening. Where the DJ is..no one really knows but the music is coming from somewhere. Shout out a request and maybe it will be able to be played as well.

Lantern Ceremony

As the evening wears on, the Wei Wuxians start to pass out lanterns to each of the guests. They have spent weeks preparing them, painting them with various designs so that each one would be unique. Not only is the lantern ceremony an important part of the Mid-Autumn festival, but it holds a very special meaning for the WangXian pairs. One of their first memories together involved promises while sending off a lantern. On this night that is supposed to be the brightest moon of the year, they want to light up the sky with even more things in celebration.

A quick explanation of how to light it is given and when everyone is ready, their wishes are made and the lanterns are released up into the air. The pretty glow of each one fills the night sky as they rise up towards the stars, carrying the hopes and wishes of everyone with them.

That is how the evening will close and everyone is welcome to mingle around and enjoy the rest of the evening. The grooms will likely be heading off soon so say your goodnights and well wishes. They hope that everyone enjoyed the evening and makes sure that each guest leaves with their little lotus bag as a thank you for sharing the special day with them.

Wei Wuxian's morning goes by so quickly that he barely remembers getting ready. As he sat and waited on the bed for Lan Wangji to collect him he could feel his heart beat racing in his chest. He was almost thankful for the veil covering his face because he was sure that he looked both excited and terrified. He smooths the soft silks of his robes, feeling over the golden embroidery and the foil detailing. He can't believe that the day has finally come and he is about to wed his soulmate. Despite the fights and the obstacles they have had to overcome since being at the hotel, it was all worth it to get to this point when he would finally be officially Lan Wangji's husband.

He lets out a shaky breath just as the door starts to open. He had heard the commotion outside as Lan Wangji was put through the trials of their friends and family members. Clearly he passed as the door is now opening to reveal the man who has caused his heart to race to rapidly. Wei Wuxian turns his face towards the door barely able to make the man out from beneath the red veil. It is time to make the trip to the gardens and make their vows.

He feels Lan Wangji's hands collecting his and helping him rise from the bed. The robes are long, dragging along behind him on the ground in a lovely train of red and gold as he gets escorted towards the door. His hands feel clammy but he tries to keep himself calm and quiet as they head out of the room and towards the elevator.

Wei Wuxian is not used to so many layers, so much glamour..Long sleeves that practically dangle to the ground seem so excessive to him but he can't deny that the robes are beautiful and he doesn't want to do anything to damage them. The beads on the veil make a small jingling type noise as they walk and he just tries to walk slowly and carefully to make sure it doesn't slide off his head and to make sure he doesn't accidentally step on the bottom of his robes. His hair is mostly down instead of the long ponytail he usually has, and even this is a strange sensation as he feels it all against his neck and cascading down the back of the robes. There is a small golden hairpiece on his head with a small section of hair through it and he knows that it will help the veil stay where it is supposed to.

He's trying to distract himself with these thoughts about the robes so he doesn't focus on what he is about to do. The excitement is continuing to build with each step closer to the gardens. And soon he sees them. The red decorations among the green and fall colors. Lil' Apple also dressed up in his finest attire by the alter, along with all their family and friends along the aisle that he is now walking down. It's all so overwhelming by how wonderful it is. He tries to glance towards Lan Wangji from the corner of his eye but he can barely make out his silhouette through the veil. He is also aware of the other two also traveling down the aisle with them when he glances over the other way and can see that he is walking between the two Lan Wangji's, his soul twin just on the other side of him.

His eyes come back forward as they reach the front and the ceremony begins. They bow three times before the alter, sealing their love and their promises to each other. When they rise he turns towards Lan Wangji and that veil is lifted. He didn't even realize that tears were flowing form his eyes until the air hit his face, no longer hidden beneath the thin fabric. Realizing he looks like a mess he reaches up with a long sleeve and tries to wipe away the remnants before anyone else can see them. When the sleeve drops down he smiles happily up at the man he loves. His soulmate. His husband. And the kiss that seals it and makes it official is soft and sweet.

Banquet
Wei Wuxian will start off at the table because that is what he is supposed to do. Enjoying a nice variety of chicken and fruits and all kinds of things he should be eating before he can invade the desserts. And he has quite an apatite today since he knew the meal would be excellent so he didn't bother to eat anything before then. So he is busy shoving his face full and washing it down with Emperor's Smile when anyone walks up to wish him well. When they do he does lower his chopsticks and smile brightly at them.

But Wei Wuxian can't just sit behind a table and wait for people to come to him all evening. So although he might start off there, he also will be wandering around and visiting with everyone who has come to the party. Everyone came to celebrate so he must at least thank them for sharing in the day. But that also means he is going to be very distracted by the food table and the wide range of goodies that are laid out.

So if he hasn't gotten to talking to you at one of the little tables while you are eating, you are welcome to harass him as he starts to load up a plate with several types of desserts. Of course they will also be cutting that delicious looking wedding cake and so he will be helping himself to a piece of each layer at some point.

He will look over and point at one of the desserts with a smile, "Have you tried that one yet? It's amazing." He might not know what it is called, but he knows it has a great taste.

Dancing
Wei Wuxian is at the area where dancing is to occur but he is having a bit of a wardrobe issue. He's attempting to gather up his robes in some way so that his feet are not so hindered by the long layers. These robes are lovely and comfortable and great for the ceremony but not so wonderful for walking or dancing around after it.

He is now attempting to tie up the bottom edges with the tassel ropes. Feel free to stop him before he ruins some part of his pretty wedding outfit.

Lanterns
It's Wei Wuxian's task to pass out the lanterns and so he does the best he can to make sure everyone gets one and that they can enjoy the festivities that will bring the night to a close. He has finally reached the last of the lanterns and as he hands it over he offers a bright smile, only slightly starting to lose a little of it's energy since it's been a long day and his energy is starting to give out.

"Do you know how to light it?"

Post-Wedding
Wei Wuxian stands beneath one of the red lanterns as he watches the last of the guests finally heading inside as the night reaches it's conclusion. He's tired but quite content and happy with how the evening had gone. Even though he can't be credited with helping out much, he does feel like part of his role was to make sure everyone had a good time. Because they deserve it. For everything that this hotel likes to throw at them, the all deserve to have a little fun once in awhile with no consequences.

He's a little distracted as he stands there with his veil in his hands, fingers feeling over one of those smooth golden beads along the edge of it. He will remember this day for the rest of his life. Even if the situation in strange with the fact that this was a double wedding, in a way that made it even more special. How many people get to share their love with versions of themselves from another world? This extended family that he has gained fills a hole in his heart that he didn't realize had grown so big.

He turns his eyes to look up towards that full moon, his smile soft and happy.

Lan Wangji woke up very early in the morning on this joyous day. His heart is light, full of love and joy and peace, a peace he haven't felt in ages. He was in an emotional stupor, but today is the day that he truly felt like himself. The heaviness in his heart lifted, and he is in better spirits, that he is even smiling and laughing. So much work and preparation to be done. He communicated with the staff and for once, perhaps with the Queen's permission, they are helpful and cooperative in helping in getting everything organized and prepared, that for once he is friendly with them.

Later on, amidst the excitement, getting the poor donkey to dressed up in his finest attire, he is just as handsome and well-dressed as everyone, and guiding him to the gardens. By the time everything is prepared and in place, he is ready. Afterward, he gets dressed himself in his red groom attire, and fixes himself to look perfect for the wedding. With the promise of the banquet and dancing, there are several tasks to do to make sure everything else fall into place first. That being the ceremony and the bowing before the altar to pay respects to the ancestors and to each other to seal their love.

He lifted the veil to look into the eyes of his beloved soulmate, the man he has been in love with as his soulmate and always will. Looking into his eyes, full of tears, he realized he is the one he truly wanted to spend the rest of his life with, now and forever. Wordlessly, as Wei Ying cries, he kisses his tears away, realizing they are tears of joy and not of sadness, and wipes them away with a sleeve to dry his eyes. He made a vow to make him happy and protect him for the rest of his days.

"We're married and I'm your husband now." He kisses him again and again. He would have kiss him several times more, but there's the rest of the wedding and party to enjoy. Now the ceremony is finished, it's time for the real fun. "Let's join the others for the banquet. I bet you're hungry. I am too."

Wei Wuxian looks up at the man he loves, smiling into those kisses. He forgets that they are surrounded by family and friends as he stares up at him. He could enjoy this moment for the whole day. "I love you, Lan Zhan. I'm so happy to be your husband."

He wants to be completely enveloped in all the love he feels and wrap himself up in Lan Wangji's arms for all time. But he knows that there is more to enjoy on the day.

"I can't wait to try all the food..and all the desserts!" Especially that wedding cake that looks so amazing on the dessert table.
